Rachel Cocar started teaching music at St. Anne school in 2006. She brings both her love for music and her love for God with her into the classroom. She graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and from Duke University with a Master of Divinity degree. In her classroom she seeks to help children learn through various methods, getting them up and moving, facilitating discussion, getting hands-on learning with a wide array of musical instruments. When students graduate from St. Anne School it's her prayer that they each have a basic working knowledge of music notation, music history, and performance experience. If you pop into her class on any given day you may see students dancing, playing games, even creating their own music. Her favorite quote is, "When you sing, you pray twice."
