My name is Audra Bates and I teach 3rd grade at St. Anne School. I grew up in Atkinson, IL, with my parents and younger brother and attended Atkinson and Geneseo schools through my high school graduation. I then attended Lewis University, a Catholic college near Joliet, IL, where I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Theology. Upon graduation in 2009 I taught math, social studies, and religion in a Catholic junior high school in the Chicago suburbs. After two years there, I got married and moved to Dixon where I started teaching language arts to the junior high students at St. Anne. My passion, however, was for younger students. In 2015 I made the move to 3rd grade. My husband, Rob, and I reside in Dixon with our children Lauren, 7, and Ryan, 4.
