My name is Betsy Partington, and I teach art at St. Anne School.  I grew up in Amboy and graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-8.  I have been teaching in the Sauk Valley area since 2002.  My husband and I live in Dixon and have three children -- Brady, Ryan, and Anna.  We have been part of the St. Anne family since 2002. 

 

I have experience in teaching art because I taught it to my students in several general education classrooms throughout the years.  I am happy to be sharing my art and teaching experience with the children of St. Anne School this year. The arts are essential!  Students can learn to be creative, to express their emotions in their work, and that small differences can have large effects.  So many skills can be developed through creating art, like hand-eye coordination, concentration, and risk-taking.
